About NODC

Vision

The vision of the New Orleans Dream Center is to reach people and build their lives so that they are empowered to achieve the dream that God has for them. This dream becomes a reality as they develop healthy life skills to maintain positive lifestyles by caring for the whole person – spirit, soul and body.

Values

The Dream Center is all about people. It is a place where loving people love other people. Jesus came to demonstrate God’s love for us. He healed the sick, forgave sinners, fed the multitudes, held the little children, lifted the fallen, and mended the broken. As we empower people with love, they will rise out of despair and defeat to live victoriously. A new generation will arise to lift their families and neighborhoods from poverty to prosperity, from crime to caring, from brokenness to blessing, from sickness to soundness, from fear to freedom. This is a place to invest our money, our time, our talents and our support. Everyone who hears of the Dream Center can do something. There are many ways to help. Let’s do it TOGETHER. We can build a dream with love!

Founder

A native of New Orleans, I came to Christ at the age of 18, while attending Tulane University. For many years after coming to Christ, I was involved in reaching out to students; especially those in the local housing projects. God gave me an overwhelming desire to make a difference in the lives of young people. After graduation from Tulane, I was able to attend Christ for the Nations in Dallas Texas. It was during this time that God placed a call on my life for ministry and I returned to New Orleans to attend Seminary. Following my formative period God moved supernaturally to allow me to start a church in Mandeville; however, my passion was kept alive for the people of New Orleans with the development of many wonderful relationships with thousands of families in the area.

Hurricane Katrina swept through the area leaving in its wake, broken and devastated lives. However, with the devastation came many opportunities to fulfill the dream God had put into my heart so very long ago. Supernaturally, God orchestrated our purchase of our City Campus building at the strategic location of the Interstate 10 Freeway and St. Charles Avenue. This location has given us a presence and an unprecedented opportunity to minister to the whole person, spirit, soul and body.

The Facility

dreamcenter2.jpgToday, we are at the best time in the history of this city to truly make a difference. God has given us the opportunity to purchase a facility at the crossroads of the cultural and financial epicenter of New Orleans on historic St. Charles Avenue. This facility is located in a “high and dry” area. While the Superdome, just blocks away, was surrounded by the floodwaters of Katrina, our facility was preserved and was even used as an evacuation shelter during the storm. Once renovated, this multi-purpose facility will house a multimedia, 1500 seat sanctuary, numerous classrooms, a café, and ample parking. We are strategically located to serve as a continual relief center, both now and in the future. We are well into the process of restoring this timeless facility to turn it into a resource center to reach and rebuild the New Orleans region.

Dream Center outreaches have already begun throughout the city and will intensify as we complete the building. You can partner in this dream both prayerfully and financially. Your resources will contribute to operating costs of the Dream Center programs. Find out how you can give today by clicking here.
